Luis Delgado – The Critical Update (CHAIR)

Luis Delgado nació en El Paso, Texas y tuvo la rica experiencia de crecer en la Ciudad de México. Después de regresar a El Paso, se graduó de la Universidad de Texas en El Paso. Luis y su esposa Aixa se mudaron a Austin poco después de graduarse.

Mucha gente lo reconoce como un esposo amoroso, un padre dedicado, un recurso comunitario, un orador y como el empresario que fundó The Critical Update, Inc (TCUINC) en 2003. TCUINC es una firma de consultoría tecnológica la cual ha evolucionado de un soporte informático básico a una consultoría tecnológica asequible, gestión de redes, Soluciones TI subcontratadas, y ciberseguridad.

Luis es un profesional certificado de HIPPA y está enfocado en ayudar a dueños de pequeños negocios a crear más trabajos para las familias de Texas. A él también le apasiona ayudar a las personas a encontrar su propósito y está comprometido con una vida de liderazgo a través del servicio. Luis es un amigo fiel, un hombre de fe, y un bebedor de café que nunca está sin su vaso favorito.

Yolanda Davila – BBVA (PAST CHAIR)

Yolanda tiene más de diez años de educación y experiencia profesional en investigación de política pública y recolección de datos, con énfasis en el análisis fiscal y político. Actualmente se desempeña como Oficial de Relaciones Comunitarias para el BBVA Compass en la región central de Texas. Ella apoya los objetivos de responsabilidad social corporativa del banco para el alcance comunitario, construcción de una buena reputación y el desarrollo de negocios.

Recientemente, Yoly actuó como analista especializada en la Mesa Directiva del Presupuesto Legislativo de Texas. Este trabajo involucró la planificación y desarrollo del desempeño de revisiones de agencias gubernamentales, incluyendo las evaluaciones de lo económico, la eficiencia y efectividad del programa. Ella dirigió las evaluaciones para determinar el cumplimiento de las leyes, las regulaciones, las políticas y los procedimientos, y reportó los hallazgos y recomendaciones a los legisladores. Antes de esto, Yolanda trabajó con Fitch Ratings, Charles A. Dana Center, el senador Shapleigh y Foundation Communities donde también se desempeñó como presidenta de la junta directiva. Nacida en El Paso, de inmigrantes mexicanos, Yoly es la primera generación de su familia con un grado universitario..

Ella tiene una Maestría de Asuntos Públicos de la Escuela Lyndon B. Johnson de la Universidad de Texas de Austin y una Licenciatura en Ciencias Políticas de la Universidad Williams de Massachusetts.

Ryan Melendez –  Truist Financial (chair elect)

Ryan Melendez is a Assistant-Vice President and Market Leader for Branch Banking & Trust Company (BB&T), a community banking group for Austin and the surrounding areas. In this capacity, Ryan has responsibilities including business development, small business lending, client management and community engagement. Ryan also serves as a community leader in Austin. During his ten-year banking career, including 8 with BB&T Bank, Ryan’s primary focuses are to build long-term relationships as a trusted advisor with his clients and the community; manage a portfolio of retail and small business clients; and have a strong understanding of his client’s banking; investment and insurance needs.

Ryan was born in Caracas, Venezuela, has been in Texas since 1995, and attended Columbia Southern University. Ryan is an engaged community volunteer who currently serves on the board of EGBI Austin and supports various other community organizations in the Austin area. Ryan lives in Kyle, TX with his son Stuart and his daughter Rihanna, and their dog Scotts. In his free time, Ryan likes doing outdoor activities with his family.

Robert Shipman -Frost Bank (Treasurer)

Robert Shipman is a Vice President in Frost’s Corporate Banking Group for Austin and the surrounding areas.  In this capacity, Robert has responsibilities including business development, commercial lending, client management and community engagement.  Robert also serves as Community Leader in North Austin.

Durante sus 15 años de carrera bancaria, incluyendo los 7 años en el banco Frost, sus objetivos principales han sido construir relaciones a largo plazo como un asesor confiable con sus clientes y la comunidad, administrar un portafolio de clientes comerciales y tener un entendimiento solido de las necesidades bancarias, de inversiones y de seguros de sus clientes.

Robert es nativo de Texas de varias generaciones y se graduó de la Universidad de Mary Hardin-Baylor en Belton, TX.

Robert es un voluntario comunitario comprometido que actualmente se desempeña en la junta directiva de EGBI y apoya a otras organizaciones comunitarias en el área del norte de Austin.

Sade

Sade Ogunbode- Law office of SadÉ Ogunbode (secretary)

Sade attained her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston and received her juris doctor from South Texas College of Law. She’s been licensed to practice law since 2010 and holds a Texas state Mediator certificate. She served as Past Chair of the Solo/Small Firm section of the Austin Bar Association. She helped launch and Co-Chaired the Austin Bar Mentoring Program for lawyers between 2011 and 2015. She is also a 2013 graduate of the Austin Bar Leadership Academy.

Fundó su despacho de abogados en el 2010, donde puede ayudar a clientes con casos de bienes raíces, defensa de ejecución hipotecaria, defensa de cobranza y litigios civiles. Antes de ejercer la abogacía, trabajó como maestra de educación especial y como analista de software.

Sadé disfruta animar a sus colegas abogados y a dueños de negocios a mejorar continuamente tanto en el ámbito personal como en el profesional. Disfruta de su tiempo como voluntaria en el Servicio de Referencia de Abogados del Centro de Texas y con los Voluntarios de Servicios Legales además ha realizado presentaciones públicas a través del programa llamado People’s Law School donde se presentan temas como: la Ley del Consumidor y Defensa de cobros.

Al Lopez

Al Lopez, served as Executive Director, Economic Growth Business Incubator (EGBI) from late 2010 through mid-2017, which was the highest growth most successful period of EGBI to date.  Prior to joining EGBI, Lopez was a finance executive at Dell, Inc. for 11 years, where he reported to the company’s CFO and served as vice president of finance for Global Services and IT organization.  Previously, he spent 21 years at IBM in a host of financial management and executive positions, including two years overseas in France, after starting his career as a sales representative.

In addition to his extensive executive corporate background, Lopez has a strong history of community outreach and service.   He has served with the St. John Neighborhood Association and is very involved with the John H. Reagan Early College high school AVID program that led to being named the AISD Latino Volunteer of the Year in 2012.  Lopez currently serves as Treasurer of IDEA Public Schools governing board. IDEA Public Schools is an open enrollment high performing public charter school district serving over 30,000 predominately low-income students.

Lopez holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Arizona and an MBA from the University of Northern Colorado.  He also previously served on the University of Texas at Austin Accounting Advisory Council for several years.  He and his wife, Judy are very active at the Austin Stone Community Church and have three married children (and eleven grandchildren.)

Mike Lancaster – Wells Fargo

Mike Lancaster was born and raised in San Antonio, TX.  He attended the University of Texas at San Antonio and earned a degree in Business Management.  Mike is a 22-years veteran in the banking industry.   He is currently the Round Rock Business Banking Manager at Wells Fargo Bank.  His responsibilities include managing a team of bankers who acquire new business, manage business relationships, commercial lending, SBA lending, medical & equipment lending, working capital management and Treasury Management.

Mike started his career with Norwest Bank in October 1996, which later transitioned to Wells Fargo Bank thru merger in November 1998.   Mike has held many leadership positions in the consumer and business lending division of Wells Fargo across Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana.  Mike also is a mentor to many junior bankers.  Some of his accomplishments at Wells Fargo are: Chairman of the Wells Fargo Sales Council in 2011, Top Volume Producer in 2012 and Star Performer in 2008 and 2014.

Mike lives in Round Rock, TX with his wife Kelly, their twin boys Zane & Tyler, and his dog Frank. In his free time, Mike likes doing outdoor activities with his family, Coach YMCA Soccer, as well as traveling and trying out new restaurants.  He is a graduate of Leadership Round Rock Class of 2014. He also does volunteer work for Habit for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, he is the past Board Chairman for a local non-profit Economic Growth Business Incubator (EGBI) and a Board Member of the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce.

Edwin TreviÑo – Signarama Austin

Born in Roma TX, Edwin E. Treviño, is proud of his family which includes his wife and his 4 children.  Edwin is an enthusiastic and creative businessman with a high sense of responsibility, teamwork, and devotion to customer service. He has an innate ability to negotiate in the sales arena, a refined sense of understanding what customers seek, and is consistent seeker of “how we can” LOS COMO SI! He has also graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

From 1989 to 2016 Edwin founded in Mexico two companies and ventures into the fascinating market of the graphic arts. Global Quest de Mexico SA (GQ) where to-this-date, he is the CEO and Managing Director. The  company is dedicated to digital printing with outstanding graphic design offering clients a complete solution that starts with the design (Diseño), printing (Impresión) to assembly (Montaje) … DIM.  With the company’s robust service culture in all aspects of the business, GQ found a natural niche in the retail and supermarket industry. GQ participated in the design development and production of important nation-wide projects.

In 2016, With a desire to expand its presence in the US market and looking to settle in Texas, Edwin opened–with his family-  a new company GlobalDIM Services LLC / Signarama Austin, offering the same service, support and experience in Signs, Digital Print and Design solutions.

Actualmente está trabajando en la edición y producción de un libro sobre la aplicación, la influencia, la importancia del diseño y su propia experiencia en la industria del mercado minorista del autoservicio.

Pilar Sanchez – Housing Authority of the City of Austin

Pilar Sánchez, Es la directora actual de Supervisión de cumplimiento de la Autoridad de Vivienda de la Ciudad de Austin (HACA por sus siglas en inglés), ella fue instrumental en la fundación de la primera corporación subsidiaria de la Autoridad de Vivienda en el 2000, atrayendo a más de 70 nuevos empleos en Austin. Ella fue responsable del desarrollo de la agencia desde el principio, desarrollando todas las políticas y procedimientos, contratando y entrenando a más de 50 empleados, y monitoreando el cumplimiento normativo del programa. Sánchez es responsable de la revisión de cuentas y de evaluar todos los programas y hacer recomendaciones en reingeniería de programas para asegurar la eficiencia, la integridad, la satisfacción del cliente y el cumplimiento normativo. Su logro más reciente ha sido ser cofundadora de la sección de consultoría de la agencia, el cual firmó su primer cliente en enero.

El espíritu emprendedor de Sánchez también contribuyó a la creación de un centro de recursos para el desarrollo empresarial, Empresas Emergentes (Emerging Enterprises- EE). EE se encuentra en el este de Austin y ofrece clases de desarrollo empresarial para empresas nuevas que necesitan asistencia para redactar planes comerciales y de mercadeo o que necesitan asesoramiento empresarial. Sánchez negoció un acuerdo tripartito entre su empleador, la Autoridad de Vivienda de la Ciudad de Austin (HACA), la Gran Cámara de Comercio Hispana de Austin (GAHCC) y la Incubadora de Empresas de Crecimiento Económico (EGBI). HACA proporciona el espacio y el financiamiento para las operaciones, mientras que GAHCC y EGBI se encargan de operar el centro.

Alejandra de la Torre – Alejandra de la Torre State Farm insurance

Alejandra de la Torre is a 19-year veteran of the insurance industry, community servant and leader, and small business owner. She has served her clients in multiple roles as both a manager and business owner. Her varied experience has made Alejandra one of the most sought after experts in small business and consumer insurance.

Alejandra currently serves as the owner of Alejandra de la Torre State Farm. As an Agent, she has received multiple awards including Ambassador Club, Legion of Honor and Mutual Fund Leaders Program.  Prior to her role as a business owner, Alejandra thrived in leadership roles within State Farm, leading teams in underwriting and in the Customer Care department.  In 2010, Alejandra was appointed Manager of the Agent Training Team for State Farm’s South-central Region. There she spearheaded the training and development of new Agents in 6 states. Under her leadership, the training department routinely produced some of the nation’s top agents and most successful business owners.

Alejandra believes in serving the community. She is a supporter of animal rescue groups, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and groups that facilitate a stronger and better educated community. She is a community leader, assisting local area schools in obtaining scholarships for disadvantaged students. Her knowledge and expertise helps customers insure their future and give them piece of mind. Alejandra’s relationships are grounded on quality service, mutual trust and integrity. She focuses her efforts on continuous growth, community involvement, and doing business the way the customer wants to do business.

Alejandra was born and raised in El Paso, TX and moved to Austin in 2003. She has a Master’s Degree in Business Management and is the proud mother of two beautiful children Valentina Paloma 5 years and Michael Carlos 2 years.
